I have had two Eurosteam 1000W irons that I have loved. They are terrific for my quilting purposes, but unfortunately not only expensive but quite fragile. My second stopped working this am. I loved this iron because I didn't have to change temperature for changing fabrics (it only has one setting: steam), it was fast, and it stayed on until I turned it off.
So I am looking at my options for replacement. Any ideas?

Welcome from Ontario, Canada. I am still using my old 45 year old iron so I can’t advise on the newer irons.

I buy a cheaper iron at Dollar General, they last a long time. More expensive irons don't last as long. I never use steam.

I go thru irons fast. I get my Black and Decker irons at Walmart and have not had any trouble with them. Good luck on your search

I'm another who never uses steam. A spritz of water if necessary, but steam scorches my fingers! I just buy a cheap iron at Wallyworld. They last about 10 years. I had DH put an inline switch on the cord so that I can turn it off without moving the dial to "off".

I kicked the steam habit cause I kept shrinking blocks, so I usually just get a Black & Decker or Hamilton for about $30 from Walmart.

I just bought my second T-Fal Ultraglide. Has large water tank. Got first one at Bed Bath & Beyond with coupon; ordered this new one online from Walmart. Love the sole plate. Has long cord. Really like this after having 2 Rowentas that both ended up leaking.

I don't use steam either, it makes my room hot and I burn myself. I use Best Press or a spritz of water. I just buy cheap irons from Walmart, Black and Decker, Hamilton Beach, etc. Read the box and buy one with high wattage so it gets hot. I've owned Olisio, and Rowenta irons, neither lasted more that 3 years. The Rowenta was the worse.

Welcome to the QB from SE Michigan! Glad to have you join us. I purchased an inexpensive steam iron on Amazon about 2 years, a Sunbeam and it works great. Gives a great burst of steam when I need it and I can turn it of with ease between usage with out turning off the iron. I tend to unplug the iron a dozen or more times a day when doing my blocks. I am probably a bit over cautious. I have a small Ironing pad on my cutting table that this works great with. I believe I only paid about $10 for this one and I have no complaints. Dry or steam it works great.
