I am looking for a 'hot tool' to clean up the edges of an applique for a quilt. I will be using Floriani med tear-away and polyester thread for the applique. The tear away melts with a hot tool (to give it a nice clean edge), but if it gets over 500 degrees it will melt the poly thread. Any suggestions for me.

I wonder if this would work with the cutting adapter.

I could not find out how hot the mini irons get. I have the mini I and the high setting will not melt the stabilizer.
