I am planning a quilt for my sister. She does quite a bit of canning and such so I purchased old canning labels on fabric to incorporate into the quilt. I am having a bit of trouble deciding what the rest of it should look like. The diagram would be the layout of the blocks that have the labels in them. I am trying to decide what to do with the other blocks. The color blocks to the right of the diagram is how I was thinking of framing the labels. The colors have not yet been chosen. What do you think? (You need to push the download button to see the design as it is an excel page)

Pictures of things that she might can? Vege's and fruit fabric? I think it sounds really really cute!

Bug jars were very popular for kids a couple years ago. You could do canning jars just as easily. I like the BOM idea sewcrafty linked to.

I think this would be cute, both the jars filled with fruit and the fruits & veggies. If you have extra canning labels left over depending on what size they are you could put them on the jars too.

You could use the "bug" jar pattern and change it to canning jars.

Might make a nice tribute to a canner.

OOPS didn't read the entire thread before posting, seems like great minds think alike :)
