I use to use the flannel back of a picnic tablecloth and it usually worked great but every once in awhile, I would have a few problems. laughing...I solved that problem by getting a balloon, blowing it up and rubbing it all over the flannel to put a little bit more static electricity on the flannel. It seemed to do the trick. :)

It is helpful to have a slant towards the top-- out at the bottom more than the top- so the angle keeps the blocks from being totally verticle.

I found that different size blocks may need pins. It also matters with how many seams that keep the block off the flannel. The flatter the blocks lay the easier it is for them to stay on the flannel.

I used two sheets of 4 t x 8 ft x 1 inch thick foam insulation (like you would use to insulate your house) covered it with a piece of fleece, put them side by side now I have an 8 ft x 8 ft design wall if I have to I can pin blocks up (into the foam) but for the most part they just hang there.

All you ladies are good at designing blocks, I need to follow a pattern.

Washing the $10 Walmart blanket and then lightly spraying it with basting spray worked! I let the spray dry and pressed my 16" block into it and it worked beautifully!

That is what I thought I would try. How did you hang it? I was thinking of putting it over my hall closet. I thought maybe a bigger dowel then I could roll up the batting when I wasn't using it. How long/wide of a piece did you use? Was it one piece or pieced? Yes I know.... so many questions... Thanks for any help with this!!! :lol:
