    When I was taught sewing at school we used wool to stuff the pin cushions with as the natural lanolin in the wool prevented the needles and pins from rusting, it works too!

    I use BB pellets. Don't want to carry it around with you very often, but it really stays where you want it.

    Sawdust works great. My dad has a wood shop and saves me a bag when I'm in pincushion mode!
