    Default T Shirt quilt question

I have my goddaughter's t shirts that I am making into a quilt. ON some of them the sayings are very small which I thought I could piece in different spots once I start laying out the blocks. My question is have you used some of the extra fabric that you cut off and add to smaller block to make them bigger or should I use cotton in these extra spaces. I did buy some cotton for sashing. All of the t shirts have an interfacing on the backs so they don't stretch. I would do that to the plain pieces too. What are some of your thoughts for those of you who have made t shirt quilts. Also, how have you quilted them? SID or overall? Thanks for your ideas.

I'm working on a t quilt now, I plan to use the pockets with small print as keystones in the 4 corners.

I made a t-shirt quilt for my son from is running shirts. I didn't use smaller blocks but did have it quilted overall. It was great as the digitized pattern was running shoes. Looked very nice and he loved it!

When I are the last one and some were smaller I piece d them into 4 patch or something similar until it made the correct size block. I didn't want to leave anything out! Also appliqued real small ones onto others if there were big blank spots .

I made a t shirt quilt for my DH , just pieced with shadow and background fabrics . then put it together like a puzzle and added background fabric where needed.

I pieced mine with both extra pieces of thirt and with cotton. I stabilized the cotton with the same fusible I used on the shirts to keep everything the same feel and thickness.

When I fuse the t-shirts to the stabilize I will use the entire length of the shirt so I will have extra that I can use for adding to smaller designs. I sometime us a couple little designs with a strip in between and even on the sides to get it the size I need.
