I saved my two sons t-shirts (now ages 21 and 26) from various sports and made quilts. How much should I charge someone to make a quilt for their child? Give me your thoughts...twin, full, Queen/king....one price if I provide supplies and one price if they provide supplies.

I'd say goole t-shirt quilts and you'll get a good batch of people out that that do this for a business...they usually list their prices on their site.

Lot of things to take into consideration.

I'd say no less than $350 for a full size one.

Most people that appreciate quilts won't be scared.

Go to etsy.com and search for custom tee shirt quilts. There are lots of folks who offer the service. You could get an idea of what they charge.

I am currently saving my boys "special" shirts for a quilt or two someday. Yours is beautiful. Hope they liked it!

A lot! ;) And keep in mind that if they provide supplies, you need to be able to veto if they don't provide appropriate supplies. So give them a list and description, or go shopping with them. I'm making a T-shirt quilt for a friend, and we laid out her shirts ahead of time to calculate how much interfacing and how much sashing/border fabric we'd need (as well as to take pictures to keep track of where we'd decided to put each shirt). Then we went to the store together so I could help her with picking out the sashing/border fabric and show her possibilities for backing fabric (waiting to get that until we have the quilt top done - also gives her time to save $). Since we went to JAF, I was also able to give her a sale coupon to use.

    And don't forget thread!
