Mimi Sews

Many years ago my Aunt, who was in her 70s, gave me a bunch of scraps she had leftover from a quilt she made. I decided to get them out today to make hexagons. When I started looking at them I realized that some (or all) of them may be feedsacks. My aunt recently passed away, so I can't ask her about them. What do you think? Are they feedsacks?

Not sure - but all of my actual feedsacks have quite coarse fabric.

i always thought that feed sacks were a more open weave. I could be wrong. why not google or pintrest feed sacks and see what comesup.

Flour and sugar sacks were also printed so some are softer and finer cloth than others. I have many of those fabrics in intact pieces in a box in the closet somewhere around here.

I'm thinking the are reproduction prints from the 1980's. I can remember seeing some of these in a quilt shop where I once lived, St. Charles, MO.

There are flour and sugar sacks as well as feed sacks. I have seen feed sacks very similar to your fabric. Does it matter?
