I just got the bobbin work kit, and was wondering if anyone is familiar with it yet, how they like it, or any tips that they have would be appreciated.

It came with me Lauren Ashley 2000 but I haven't tried it yet. Hopefully I can play with it this summer once school is out.

It is a special bobbin case that you can purchase either the brother, or the babylock one to do bobbin work with speciaty threads or ribbon, the symphony and laura ashley come with these. If you have the espire or QC-1000 you have to purchase it

    Oh duh! Of course, lol.

When I was in the machine quilting class a while back the other gals (with Pfaffs or Janomes) were using the special bobbin case too. I did bobbin work on the Espire with the regular bobbin case.

Now, IF I were to venture into much thicker threads, and do bobbin work more regularly, I would most likely get that one. As is, it handles the fancy threads just fine for me as is.
