I use only cones of thread now and have a few machines basically ready to turn on a sew with so I made a few of these for myself,1 for my daughter and 1 for my 7 yr old grandson who is getting a hand crank for Christmas. These worked up really fast and I used oak scraps,lol-I have wood scraps too not just fabric.

Terrific! My sister has been wanting something like this, and her husband works with wood.
