I bought myself a Felting machine and it works great, you'd never know the batting was cut.

I have done lap size and under with pieced batting. I prefer using the pieced on smaller projects so I don't have to puzzle piece so many peces of batting together. But it works. I still have lots of small pieces to work with.

most of my batting scraps are placemats and table toppers. I've seen the new kindle covers for the electronic readers. That may be my next project with batting scraps as most of my friends are using these e readers now.

I've pieced long & short strips of left over batting together with a very large zig zag stitch, and have had NO problem with it being puckered, or anything else bad.I am a hand quilter. However, I've not quilted on a long arm, just FYI. I also have used small left over pieces of batting that are nice sized for placemats; potholders; small quilted purses; etc.

Think of it this way - you're butting the pieces of batting together AND with the quilting you do, it won't make a difference that the batting has been pieced.
