Default Took the plunge and bought a new machine!!

I have been wanting to get a machine for FMQ for some time. I was really wanting to get the Janome 6600 due to the wide harp space. I really didn't need or want all the extra stitches that came with it. I have smaller Janome that has more stitches than I ever use. So I had to go to the LQS to get some fabric for a quilt.

While I was there, I was looking at the machines again. One of the gentlemen who works there showed me a Brother PQ 1500s that he did all his FMQ on. Just a beautiful straight stitch with a wide hard and no fancy stitches. And it was half the price of the Janome. I came home and did some research on the Brother machine. It got awesome reviews! And I found it at Ken's Sewing Center for $599!! I called and talked to the staff (they were super nice!) and now my new machine is on it's way!!!! Free shipping and it may be here by tomorrow!!! I am super happy!!!

You won't be disappointed. It has a thread cutter button too. I use mine every day. I do all my piecing on it to. I did buy a Janome this year with the 11" harp. I like it a lot too. I have had the Brother for several years.

Lucky girl! I have heard alot of good things about Ken's and have been looking into the Brother also. The Juki twin to it is around $1,000. Enjoy your machine!

What is the harp dimension? I looked on their website and it didn't say. Looks like a terrific machine! Good quilting to you

I think it is about 8 to 9 inches. I love that it just does a straight stitch. I have a Janome with over 60 stitches and I seldom use more than one or two of them.
