Does anyone have a pattern or tutorial for this. I saw a tablerunner on this board that was done that way. I searched for tube piecing and the links said "not found".

My avatar quilt is a result of tube piecing ... a Cozy Quilts pattern. You could checkout there site to see if there are tips and hints.

It's really an Easy-Peasy technique ... and you can do so much with it for awesome results.

This is a great technique! I have found that if I cut my strips on the bias, then tube, the bias is the seam and the four outer edges are all on the straight of grain. Have fun!

True ... you don't really need it. They usually square up to straight of grain later, as you put the project together. Plus the bias created provides that little bit of give to ease blocks together.

Quick question... could you use this for larger blocks?

I will caution you that in the Missouri Star Tute, she says 4¼" when in fact it is 4½". this is a great way to take 2½" strips and make something that works great for quilts for Project Linus. I also like the fact that you don't need a special ruler. I did buy it but it confused me more and went back to using a standard ruler. We all have fugly fabric and this pattern makes it usable.
