    Default Tumbler chart available?

I have a tumbler template and lots of precut squares to use.
I am looking for a chart that shows how many tumblers needed for a certain size quilt.
Any help would be appreciated to help me out on the math.

Don't know if a tumbler chart exists. If not, you could measure the bottom
and top part of the template excluding seam allowance and add them together.
Then divide the width of your quilt by that amount. That should give you the
number of pairs you would have to make for the width. Take that number and
multiply by two for the final width no.
For the height, measure the height of the template excluding the seam allowance.
Take the length of your quilt and divide by the height of the template and you
    should have the number.
Now you can multiply the width no. by height no. and you should have a good
estimate of how many tumbler blocks you will need.
You might want to put it on graph paper.
    Clear as mud?

I have never seen a chart, but I keep notes when I make quilts. I made a baby tumbler quilt and my notes are that the quilt 12 tumblers x 12 tumblers is 52" x 41" that was the MSQC small tumbler

We cut a lot of Tumbler kits at the store. Here are the 3 sizes we make.

    Lap / Toddler Tumblers
    100 pre-cut 7-inch tumblers
Sew tumblers together 10 pieces X 10 pieces
    aprox. 50” X 60”

    Baby Tumbler Quilt
    196 pre-cut 4-inch tumblers
Sew tumblers together 14 pieces X 14 pieces
    aprox. 42” X 42”

    Big Tumbler Quilt
    144 pre-cut 7-inch tumblers
Sew tumblers together 12 pieces X 12 pieces
    aprox. 60” X 72”

Thanks Annette, that is very helpful and a post to keep for future use. I think I need to make baby tumbler quilt for an April baby.

I love using tumblers for quick quilts you don't need to think too much about while sewing together. I realized that I could make tumblers out of 5" squares by cutting off an inch on the right and left sides, at an angle of course. That makes the tumbler 3" at top and 5" at the bottom. I haven't done this with other sized squares yet, but I'm sure it would be fairly easy to figure out. (For those of you who, like me, are hesitant to spend money on templates that have limited uses)

This is perfect. I make a lot of charity baby quilts so this will help me a lot. The added bonus will be using scraps. Thanks so much.

My Tumbler template is 5 inches. I made one that is 13 x 11 tumblers and it is 50 x 55 inches. There may be a way to figure how many for a size larger or smaller than this, but I am not too good at math.

Thank you for the solution to the different sizes. Will print out your 'recipe' to keep in the sewing room.
