If I wanted to make this block I would start with a 9 inch block, divide it into thirds horizontal and vertical, then look at the shapes of the pieces and go from there...... a 12" block I would do the same thing, any size block that could be divisible by 3. I do not have the pattern, just saying this as an observation.

I am quilting a turning twenty right now, the fabric is flannel that was a birthday gift last summer and I used chocolate brown flannel for the backing. It is very soft, but heavy! I love this pattern and I will definitely make it again, next time for a baby quilt using smaller blocks.

this is the quilt top, not necessarily the colours I would have chosen, but now that it is together I love it.

I love turning twenty. I just made my DD an " All about Chocolate" quilt by turning twenty around the block and I have another one I want to get started. I won a bunch of fat quaters at a retreat and I want to make one by that pattern to remember the retreat by.

I found the phamplet at my favorite quilt shop here for a very reasonable price. Check it out at your local shop.

You can make your own pattern. Take square pieces of paper the size of the blocks you want, using a ruler draw out your 3 shapes allowing for seam allowances Maybe you'll have your own unique quilt pattern. :D

Thanks, DD loved it too. The center of each block had a saying about chocolate.
