    Default Unknown tool

I seem to have acquired something that I don't know what it is. It is a small tool with blue cogs (numbered 1-10) on the inside that turns in a clockwise motion. There is a screw that says 'open' but I haven't been able to get opened.
On the bottom is "quilt dome" made by Clover. There are no directions, so I have no idea what it is, how old it is, or how to make it work.
Has anybody seen or used this object that can help me figure it out?

Is this it? You store threaded needles in it.

Thank you so much, duster. I never thought of that, but the link shows exactly what I have. I knew that somebody from the Board would have the answer

I've had one of those for years, but it's still in the original packaging. Seemed like a good idea when I bought it...

I have one, have used it and put it away. Then when I wanted to use it I couldn’t find it. It’s still lost.

I use mine all the time when hand stitching binding. It's a great time saver.

I use mine (have for years) to hold needles for hand "quilting" mini-wholecloths.

I have one and use it all of the time when I do hand quilting. I love it. A fellow hand quilter saw mine, got one, and also thinks it's the best thing ever. You don't have to stop and thread needles so often.

You might think... Well I have to thread the same number of needles whether one at a time or a bunch at once. My thinking is... it's like chain piecing... we do it as it saves time in the long run
