Please forgive if this has already been posted. I've looked and looked and couldn't find any reference to it. There have been rumors about this for a few months, but seeing this in print pretty much confirms that Walmart finally confirms that they made a BIG mistake. They are bringing fabric back to their stores!!!!

It doesn't say when or what stores, but I heard on the news that they admitted that their "clean up" campaign didn't work. They're restocking guns/rifles and other items that were removed, including bolts of fabric.

My daughter wants to know WHY I'm interested, since I have more fabric than Walmart would ever carry in a lifetime!! :D :D

yea I was in Walmart tonight! I went to one that has never lost their fabric but they seemed to have more. They are now listing the fabrics online. So you can shop online and ship site to store. Which is great cause the one closest to me doesn't have fabric. And when I asked about returning it I was told that it is not a problem. She called it a "remorse" return. If you don't like it or whatever you can return it. So for everyone that is hesitant about whether the quality is ok or not that seems like a pretty easy way to tell!

I live in a small town in which Walmart kept the fabric dept but greatly downsized it. I have recently noticed that they are enlarging the current fabric area and that they are restocking with a higher quality fabric.

I was in a walmart that had brought fabric back. They had maybe, oh, between 20 and 30 different fabrics. They were in two yard cuts on individual small bolts. You bought the whole 2 yard bolt, there was no cutting involved. The prints were all big, bold very MODERN, brown, red, black, so didn't call to me, and I didn't even look at prices. I'm not sure I would call it a fabric department by my definition. If that is what it is going to be, and the limited types of fabric it will carry, I'll pass, thank you.

Ours kept the fabric but the dept. was really downsized with a remodel. I'll have to see if they are stocking it back up now. The biggest cange was tables where they piled bolts of fabric on- very hard to see what was on there.

the Walmart that I use the most is going thru a re-model and I can't find fabric on bolts. They have the pre-cuts. Several weeks ago I mentioned to a cashier I hope they aren't dumping the fabric department and she said don't give up on it yet. Last week, I asked another cashier and she said she's had pieces of fabric come thru with the cut/stickers on but she didn't know where the fabric was. She said there is a sign posted at the doorway as you come in to tell you where things have been moved! I checked on the way out - no sign!! I needed stuff this week from Walmart but decided I am going to just leave them alone for awhile and go elsewhere. I paid more for some items but I didn't have to deal with people that didn't know where anything was. I've had enough of W-mart for awhile.

Last week, I confirmed with staff at our local Wal-Mart --- they are bringing the fabric department back!!! Yaaa hoo.

They anticipate it will take a while..... perhaps after inventory (which occurs in July).

    I am sooooo happy!
