Our walmart (where I work) is expanding the fabric dept! We never lost it all, cut it was cut back a lot.
They are moving the crafts out of our area into another and the fabric section will be all fabric and sewing related!

I got a sneak peek at just one box that came in of pre-cuts - they look really nice. Nicer than the ones we had before! We will also be getting more bolt fabrics and notions and some type of vinyl.!!!

Love it! ( I work in the fabric dept.)

Our Walmart lost the fabric department (had a really nice one) and now they brought it back. Very small and no one works in the department. If you want someone to cut fabric, you have to find someone......kind of funny watching some young kid trying to pretend he knows what he is doing. I really don't see how the fabric department will make it when no one is assigned to work it.

I wish we would get the fabric department back in our Walmart. We only have a few pre-cuts that I have never been able to use. As for not finding any one to cut the fabric... I would love the chance to hunt someone down to cut my non-existing bolts!

we got it back maybe not in its old entirety but there are lots of bolts now. I am really exciting to have it back. I even got pics i posted while I was at walmart.
not being dishonest I would just cut my own fabric while the person scans and writes the ticket. I would also teach the person who is "cutting" your fabric the propper way to do it with a generous cutting and lining up properly. but that is just me.

It doesn't look like our Walmart is getting fabric back. I keep hoping as from here you have to drive at least 45 min. one way to get a Hobby Lobby, or an hour one way to get to Hancocks and Joanns.

Our Walmart was in the process of putting the fabric dept. back when I was in there about 3-4 wks ago. I don't go to the local Walmart nearly as much since they removed the fabric about 2 yrs ago. On the upside, in our neighboring town about 7 miles north, there is a Walmart that kept their fabric dept. When we go there for our favorite BBQ, we always stop by that Walmart. I buy embroidery stabilizer there (off a bolt... $1.29 yd), and pellon fleece for bow tucks ($2.29 yd), and what ever pretty fabrics that call my name. :)
