I went to the Centennial WM last week & they had a HUGE fabric section. A lot of nice stuff

I wonder if it is because they know cotton prices are going to soar and they are afraid the price may drive people from buying. They are quite the business minded.

I was just at my not so local walmart, 1 hr drive one way, I noticed some of the food items have been lowered a little. Fabric dept we still have it is smaller, mainly kid fabric, they had a bottom shelf with marked down fabric. Thread was not refilled and did not have very many shades. I did not see any batting, when it looked like promise a few weeks back, it did not look that way when I was there. Still have someone in the dept to cut fabric. No cut pieces like some say so don't know which way they are going to go. I don't shop there anymore if I don't have to

Wally in Princeton WV has it but the one here in Pearisburg VA is supposed to be taking it out. Princeton manager told me if you complain and can get management to complain they will reconsider it and add it back into the remodel. Not sure how true but they do have current yardage and alot of A E Nathan and some nice cottons in their store. I do buy there myself at times for my charity quilts for they will have just the right piece at times. But most comes from LQS or my own shop.

Well here in tn were I live last year they closed too, and when they had the fabric in discount because of them closing that section in Jasper (two towns down from my town) I saw every one complaining about it so I decided to take advantage and did car washers at my husband's garage all summer and saved the money and opened a small fabric store in my town (took over my husband front lobby of the garage) and now for the past two months my business is growing. may be you all can do the same thing.

They have been threatening to close ours for years but so far it's still there. As a matter of fact they even expanded it a while back and added jelly rolls and fat quarters...although the quality of them kind of stinks so I hope that's not what I have to look forward to if they go prepackaged.

I know a lot of ladies though who either financially have no other option or because of location have no other option but to shop at Walmart and they will be really sad when it goes. :(
