Since my DH just bought me a Baby Lock Ellisimo Gold last month which has everything I could ever need on it, the only 3 things I need is a good needle, good thread and a little more experience using it.

    1. Auto-pivot as I do a lot of appliqué (presser foot lifts automatimatically with needle down when you stop sewing WITHOUT a knee lift)
    2. Auto thread cutter
    3. Built-in walking foot

Aurora, I like your thinking. I was just going to post - a sharp needle, a spool of Coats and Clarks, and an even stitch. And off of the machine, a bottle of Tri-flow oil.

I like my knee lift too, but if I could have only three - you hit them all.
