Default What do I need to purchase with the Sizzix Big Shot Pro??

I'm looking on-line to purchase the Sizzix Big Shot Pro. I would like to use it to cut 2 1/2" strips, and charm squares. I am confused though, on what I need to make the thing work. There is the basic machine, and then I see mylar shims, adapter pads, sliding trays. What do I need to make it work to cut my desired sizes? Any help, please?

I purchased the machine with a set of accessories. Enough to cover work. Then need tp purchase a die for citing stripes and squares. Will keep watching others comments.

Just make sure you are puchasing one with the extended matts for the quilting dies because you need the extended matts for quite a few especially your strip dies

You will also need the extended tray to accommodate the size of the mats for the strip dies. If you can find a Quilters Edition it already comes with the longer trays and mats. If you buy Sizzix quilting dies you shouldn't have to worry much about shims and what not. If you are using other brands of dies like Accuquilt or some of Sizzix smaller paper crafting dies you will need shims. A shim can be anything like poster board or a flat rate envelope from the post office. You don't have to by the mylar shims from Sizzix unless you want to stick with their products entirely.
