FMQ... I did passable tulips on the edge of a table runner yesterday, but then I see such wonderful free motion stuff (Like Leah Day - Look her up!) and I cringe at my efforts...

I'm with you on wanting to learn free motion. I just received a free motion foot that I ordered online. Haven't had time to use it yet so I hope it's a miracle device that's going to let me whip around. LOL
Is there a difference between free motion & stippling? I've gathered they're the same.

Hand piecing. My next project will be hand piecing the Jinny Beyer way with one of her blocks. She is amazing and has amazing tutorials! Of course, I got to get 10 tied twin quilts and my cuddle quilt that I started 2 years ago that I am hand quilting done first. Yeah right.......I keep putting that cuddle quilt off and I only have a little bit really left to do. Guess I should be doing that huh?.........LOL! That hand piecing thing has me intrigued though. She cuts out each piece of fabric usually with scissors and hand pieces everything....ok.....I'll shut up now......LOL!

I am new too and have done everything by hand. I am starting to like using my machine so the next thing I want to learn is machine quilting. I love doing it by hand but it takes forever!!

I want to learn how to do curves. I hand-quilt only, because I don't own a sewing machine and never have. So it's all slow and by hand, which would give me plenty of practice.

I already to a lot of applique, but it's all by machine. I'd love to learn needle turn applique.

Paper Piecing. I tried it a little on my current quilt and I hated it. I'm sure it was operator error. I just can't wrap my head around sewing upside down.

I'd like to learn the basics of machine quilting before I ever try FMQ. I just stitch in the ditch.
