I was pretty frustrated about bindings to. I was following a blog called crazymomquilts and she had a tutitorial on binding. Eventhough I read it over and over; my DIL suggested practicing with potholders and now I can do perfect ones. Doing the happy dance. I usually use 2.5 inch strips, but some quilters use 1.5in ones. Good Luck, U will become great at it.

I cut my binding 2", fold it in half and sew on with a 1/4" seam. I lay out my binding before I sew it on to make sure I don't end up with a seam on one of my corners. After I sew it on the front I pull the binding to the back and make sure the edge of the binding just covers the seam used to sew it on. The binding is even on the front and the back.

I am going to look for those hair clips tomorrow. Soooo sick of getting stuck by pins. Hope they work!

FYI I found the clips at Dollar General 12 for $1. They were $2.18, and some were over $3.00 at WalMart.
