    It's "Star Dahlia", and I believe it dates to the Great Depression.

    That is beautiful. I didn't know the name but I bought a quilt top at an auction for $3. It was made out of polyester knit with that pattern on it. It is bright yellow with dark brown "petals" and Center Spot. Looks like a sunflower.

    Another name you sometimes run across, generally when it is made with yellows as in the quilt Twinkie mentioned is " kansas Starflower

    It is also called Amish Dalia. There is 2 different patterns. One has the little gathered piece sewn into the block and one is appl. onto the block. If you goggle Amish Dalia, I think you can find both of them.
