I don't know of a stencil. Because it is so "blocky" and all straight lines, I like to do freehand swirls on log cabins to soften the overall look.

I bought a stippling stencil and used it on my sons log cabin. I like the way it turned out.

How will you be doing the quilting? I've not yet made a full size log cabin but plan to, using Judy Martin's book. I like the way hers are quilted, with SITD or straight, parallel lines in the dark areas and more fluid patterns - (could be meander but I'm partial to feathers) - in the light areas. I think it really emphasises and enhances the designs.

I'm not sure of a design, but I love log quilts

One general rule is if the quilt top has lots of straight lines use curves in the quilting.

The feather pattern would look nice on a Log Cabin. I have only done one and just stitched near each "log" in a straight line. I WAS going to make a stencil of a Log Cabin, but was worried about time.
