...on the front, what stitch do you usually use?

I attach all my bindings by machine except for wall hangings. My quilts, even though they are very pretty, are utilitarian quilts and machine stitched binding is best, my opinion. I attach the binding to the back side of the quilt first and then wrap the binding to the front and stitch down with a regular straight stitch. Using this method allows you to get a nice stitch on the front that lays right in the ditch of the back side stitching. (hope this explanation makes sense )

i do the same as Trisha. but i switch to the joining foot and move my needle to the right 4-5 clicks. then, keeping the flange of the foot keeps the straight stick nice and even from the edge.

I use a straight stitch and SITD along the flange of my machine binding with flange. I use Charismah's QB tutorial and I match the thread to the flange and backing fabric.

I sew the binding to the front, wrap it to the back, then stitch in the ditch from the front using a feather stitch.

I just use a straight stitch.

I use a serpentine stitch or maybe a narrow zigzag (some folks call it a wobble stitch since it is long and narrow).

I sew to the front, fold to the back, then use the joining foot - also a few clicks over - to sew along the front again. I like the look of the stitches along the binding edge. Just straight stitches.

I do flange binding and stitch in the ditch between the two fabrics so my stitching doesn't show at all.

I fold my binding over and put straight pins in catching it from the front. I position them straight along the fold of the binding, flipping every so many to make sure the binding it held by the pin. then i straight stitch in the ditch with maybe a 2.4 length.
