I have cats, so I always wear shoes or slippers with soles so I don't step in any hairballs.

Hooray, these are my comments indeed. Summer time the shoes go into closet when I am home. Winter I have to have heavy socks, my feet HURT when cold.

    Summer: barefoot or slipper socks
    Winter: slipper socks
When I take a class at LQS (irregardless of the time of year): I wear clogs that I can easily slip my foot out of. I just cannot stand to sew with shoes on.

I have never seen on this site anyone but me worried about dropping a rotary cutter on our feet, stepping various other sharp things in the sewing room. I always put on my shoes to sew! I guess I am a worry-wart. No, honestly the woman who taught me warned me to wear my shoes...
