For me, it depends on the time of year... barefoot or with socks/slippers. ;-)

Socks or naked feet, but I turn my presser foot upside down and have more control for it.

Mostly barefoot - sometimes with flip flops, but then I kick them off too.

I have a thing of shocks from sewing machine, so I wear some sort of shoe with a rubber sole. I know , its just me, I have used sewing machine wearing socks as well.

Always shoes (plantar fasciaitis) EXCEPT with the featherweight. Need to really feel that little button on the foot pedal ;-).

When sewing with a treadle, it definitly works better with shoes. My other machines, a hand crank and a Brother with a push button start, it wouldn't really matter.
