I know the quilt you are talking about. I have ordered the rulers but I din't have my fabric as yet. My problem, I buy these rulers and then don't find a need for them in other quilts.

Some of us need rulers! Especially when a 9th grade teacher made me promise (at the end of Algebra I class) that I would not ever ever attempt Algerbra II, geometry, calculus, trig, etc...that I'd go back to Business Math. Gladly!!

I admire those who can do Algebra, etc.!

Heavens sakes - we don't need rulers at all! Quilters used to just cut out pieces of fabric and make them fit. Or use templates made from used cereal boxes. I'm sure there was once a discussion of "why do we need this pizza cutter thing when we have scissors!"
Haha! But don't ask me - I'm a sucker for a new ruler or template! I love to have a variety of tools and if one of them helps inspire me to make something new, then I'm in!

I bought a few - not for angles, etc. - but non-slip accuracy! I've always had to add the sandpaper and other dots.
The Truecut rulers DO keep the rotary cutter from waving all over, but I had to add dots to those. I think the table might be a tad high - but it's either back or the ruler, and I choose back.

So far, the Quilters Slide lock is the only thing that works.

If you can afford it why not? As many have stated, we don't need all of this. I guess you can ask the same question as to "Do you really need a Stash?" It's a choice. I was told by one of my therapist that I had an Engineering brain, go figure, but I was raised where we didn't have access to stores, so we devised getting it fixed, or to work with what we had. I do the same in anything I do. I will look around and figure out what I have to make it work. To me the challenge of that accomplishment is far greater than the finished product.

Personally, I but what I want when I want. Been sewing for over fifty years, and just brought the ruler to supposedly make triangle cutting easier. Made it harder. You are your own person. As long as there is no one holding a gun to your head, and telling you what to buy Go our own road. May you have good luck in your quilting.
