I will disagree with the majority. I think that would made a very beautiful low-contrast quilt, if you would be happy with one. Not all quilts need to be high contrast, an not all contrast needs to be from value. I look to hue and color temperature for contrast as well as value.

pretty fabrics but not enough contrast. if you are going to make it with just these fabrics you might as well sew rectangles together and not bother piecing stars and snails trails blocks. imho

I think these would be spectacular in this pattern..........lovely color blend and contrast......I believe you will be more than satisfied with this..............

I think this one is the prettiest. The white is needed to bring out all the colors. No other color would do.
If you don't have a lot of contrast, why go through all the work of making this pattern.

The fabric used in SITP in my avatar was done with 1 piece of hand dyed fabric from Ricky Tims. I just started cutting and let the colors fall as they may. Worked out pretty good

I have an idea. Use the black and white picture or make your own by laying folded fabrics on the glass of your printer overlapping them and choose black to print. Print a picture of the fabrics. Then line up the fabrics from darkest to lightest and rescan. Maybe you will determine which would work for the darkest pieces and which would be for the lightest. I would try it with one block and see what you get. You could always then throw in a darker or lighter fabric to get the design you want. Please post a picture of your end result.
