Pamelor, once you get used to working with 2-1/2 inch squares, the step down to 1-1/2 inch strips isn’t as difficult as you might think.

I finished my candy squares! I’m thrilled. Now to get some postage before the rate increases.

It’s so cold today. 13 degrees windchill. Brrr. It’s not nearly as bad as other parts of the country but it’s bad enough for me. Stay warm everyone.

Here is my first 2.5" quilt top for 2024. Pardon the kitchen mess. I am having my kitchen remodeled and well, it is truly a mess. The good part for now is I can hide out in my sewing room while the fellers work. Almost 1,300 little darl'ins out of my stash. Only had to cut a few extra yellow and turquoise so I would have enough variety. Not the most creative or clever use of candies but they are now ready to be layered and quilted next month.

Hi all, I've been lurking a bit as I recently got 6 quilts back from my LAQ ready to bind. I've done 2 and have 4 to go. I finished one last night at almost 12:30 a.m., So I haven't cut my candies yet. I'm loving the inspiration photos. Hugs!

Oh, boy! I started Checkerboard Chain just now. Two blocks in and I know I’m going to love making it. Opened one of my candy bins to discover it’s already been sorted by color. The other one hasn’t. I’m going to stick with mediums and darks and do scrappy whites and light creams. This has jumped ahead of every other project. Finally I’ll have something to show on the 25th. Yay!

    Have a pleasant evening.

Whow there Janice MC. You are on your way! I haven't decided on what colors I will use but likely much like yours, medium and dark 2.5s and a mish-mash of white on white for the rest. I have lots of white on white scraps. I am hoping to keep the same prints in each block, but who knows. Fingers crossed that I won't need to do any shopping to complete this quilt.

I have mentioned I have a baby quilt and a throw sized quilt for a three-year-old. Go the final color choices for them today from my DIL. The quilts are for the children of the children of friend of hers. I'll show pictures of the baby quilt in a couple of days....butterflies only 2.5's per block. but it will be cute and not to baby so she can grow with it.

Reba, you have been busy. Amazing what a snow storm and temperature drop can do to our motivation. It must feel wonderful to have those bindings on and quilts moved to the finished pile.

Congrats to all who have their packages ready to go. For the rest, we have a couple of days to go before the first birthday information comes out on the 20th.
