I would like to do this but I have no idea what a Hot Air Balloon square looks like!

If you look on page 10 JudyG has a beautiful block posted and she has graciously made the pattern and posted it on page 11. Couldn't be easier! Come on, jump right in.

I got an email this morning that included a link to a cute hot air balloon quilt. Here's the link in case anyone is interested in it for a grandchild or something. I think it's really cute.

My hot air balloon is applique by machine. I have all the applique fused to the background and the basquets done. I started appliqueing the balloons that are made with 3 fabrics. Simple but I liked how it came out. I will take a picture when I finish teh first one but first I have to figure out the rope between the balloon and the basquet. I cannot wait to see your balloons. Will you be posting pics?

The 'rope' can be machine stitching, hand stitching, or even some thin ribbon stitched on. I am sure that pics will be posted as soon as we get them done. I also have mine fused and cut out, just waiting to finish up the Calendar SBS and I will be ready to finish these up!

I am SO excited! I just made my first three -- I found a great fabric for the balloon and an awesome print for the basket -- it actually looks like basketweave!

Here're are two of my appliques. I haven't decided how to do the ropes yet. They might look off-kilter, but I wanted to introduce a little action (i.e., blowing in the wind).
