When I started swapping, the post office charged $1.05 for a tracking number. Then one day they started to include tracking with First Class postage. I wonder if they changed again?

Just to let you know, though, tracking is "required" in the swap, otherwise there is no record of the mug rug being sent. Not my rules ... just the way it's always been.

Nice mug rug & teapot coaster, JuneBillie. Wasn't that posted earlier? Hah! I must be imagining things!

Regarding the tracking #, I send almost everything, with any size to it, Flat Rate Priority mail. It's about as cheap AND it's an automatic tracking.

1st class mail includes tracking, I use this all the time. I have a roll of tracking numbers and just attach to the package or envelope. You can order them online from USPS or just ask the post office for some. If you just sent it regular mail, you have to pay extra for the track number.

Sorry JuneBillie, don't have a teapot, guess that's why I didn't know what it was

That's good information, ladies. I will look into the flat rate priority, Oksewnsew. And, jaba, I like the idea of a roll of tracking numbers! I go to the post office to mail, so it's not really necessary, I guess. They put a tracking number on all my packages.

I sometimes think it depends on who is working at the window. When I first started swapping, I would ask the same questions every time I went in. Just to make sure I was getting the right information. Now they know what I want when I go in ... it took a while to train them!
