    I use lightweight muslin for a foundation and I do trip the strips as needed to make sure they are straight to begin with- being scraps they often need to be straightened but I only cut off slivers. I found the best way for me is using a foundation and I hate removing paper so I always use muslin

    Couple more blocks done this past week- I only have 4 to go to have them finished— 2 more log cabins, a star block and a crazy block.
    it will be nice to have them finished ahead of time.
