My great grandmother pieced this quilt in the 1930s in Indiana. I am now hoping to finish it but would like to have more information before I begin. If anyone recognizes it, I would be deeply appreciative.

On pg. 3 of "849 Traditional Patchwork Patterns" by Susan Winter Mills it is called Box and Star. Hope this helps you. It is a beautiful quilt and a treasure to have.

Hi again--Also found the pattern in Maggie Malone's book "5500 Quilt Block Designs" on pg. 350. It has several names to numerous to list.

Oh my, don't you just love that 3o's green? I wonder if there is a good reproduciton of that color.

Great looking quilt. What a treasure. It will be a loving expereince and connection to grt grandmother when you are working on that! How fun.

It's also known as Garden Star. As with most older blocks it has several names.
