    Default Blue hot pads

Well I still have about 170 yds. of seam binding left. I thought I would make a couple of hot pads from leftovers and put the binding around the edges, nope. After 2 hours of trying different ways to do it, I gave up and did them turned.
I tried zig zagging, got tucks, I tried straight stitching the edge, turning to the back, got a volcano shape. I will try the seam binding on a couple of straight edge placemats after Christmas and see if I have more luck.
I did finish them so not a total waste of time and fabric.

Very nice. I also did some hot pads for a few neighbors for Christmas this year. I followed a tutorial from Fabric Junction in Sturgis, SD. It was fun to make but I had a hard time doing the binding but they are done and delivered.

Very cute. I don't have much luck with bias tape, especially on small projects. I quit buying it but you'll make good use of it, I'm sure.

Maybe the hotpads were too bulky for the width of the binding. Placemats maybe better - a bit thinner.
