    Default Bold Batik Bricks

This quilt pattern is from Quick Quilts, Spring 2010. It is a very easy quilt to piece. This is the third one I've made - the second with embroidery.

My friend creates stained glass lampshades. I asked what she would charge me to make one for my husband's retirement lamp. Her response was that we should trade. One stained glass lampshade in exchange for one quilted item of my choosing.

This quilt is the result. She loves Batiks. I chose to embroider her name, the names of her children, their spouses and their children in the larger blocks. While the names are important, I don't think they detract from the Batiks.

    Thanks for looking.

Love that she offered a swap! And your embroidery will make this quilt that much more special to her and her family! Nice job!

What a great trade! Both hobbies are expensive and your friend realizes the value of your work. Your quilt for her is beautiful! I was just looking at that magazine today and thinking how I would like to make that quilt.
