While they both look nicely, I prefer the right side with the dots. I love bold and popping complimentary colors. Question however....who is the quilt for? That might determine which border you use.

I think the border on the right makes the quilt pop. I do see the black with stars in the quilt top also, so it does match.

I like the dark brown, it's not so distracting.

What color thread are you using for the embroidery on the pink, brown or black? Also I would make the stop border finished, 1 1/2, not quite as wide as you are showing in the picture. The fabrics are very pretty.

I would like to see the polka-dot fabric next to that dark pink with the small pattern on the top of your quilt. I like the polka dot fabric, but wonder what will happen next to that pink.

I like the brown on the left. With all the work you are going to do in the borders I think the polka dot could lessen the impact of your saying ,the applique and the over all quilt.

Thank you all for you opinions. I am still undecided but Shirley I think you may be right and the dot will take away from the embroidery. The embroidery will be done in a dark black/brown color. Never had such a hard time making a decision as to which fabric to use. Must be the weather...... Hope to get the borders on this weekend and some of the embroidery done then I will post a picture for you all to see which way I decided to go.
