Love the story behind the quilt and as for the quilt...Well...it is stunning, so much love and work went into this...the hand and the spiderweb are touches of genius - the colours and patterns just perfect. A wonderful tribute to your SIL's heritage. Thanks for sharing with us.

I ordered my pattern from a shop in Albuquerque, so it may have been the same place or a shop that carried her pattern. Thanks so much for the kind compliments; it means a lot to me to receive all the positive encouragement; this board has been great!

Thank you; however I cannot really take credit for the hand and spider web; my dear friend Helen since age of 14; decided several years ago (McMinnville Or) that she wanted to save the tradition of quilting by hand; she made many many quilts and her work was outstanding! She was the one who came up with the hand and spider web and she graciously let me do the same; sadly she passed away last fall and I miss her so, but hope that somehow in Heaven she can see my quilt; she did see it in the block stage and she was like a kid at Christmas seeing that she got me; of all people to try quilting! So thank you Helen and thank you board members for help and encouragement!
