Default Boy, Oh Boy, Did I Get Lucky!

Last night I cleared off the dining room table so that I could sandwich and spray baste a tree skirt that is to be a gift. My game plan is to quilt it today, bind it tomorrow, and wrap and gift it on Sunday. So I spread, smoothed, and sprayed, trying to get everything just so. After finishing, I left the quilt on the table, but pushed the chairs away so that my Shih Tzus wouldn't be tempted to get on the table to investigate. (Ask me how I know to do this!!)

this morning, still foggy-eyed with sleep, I trudged into the kitchen to make coffee and discovered that the Great Dane had decided to taste test my quilt!

Looks like maybe he didn't like all of it. According to what little is on the floor. BTW looks great so far.

At least he didn't take a taste from the middle. It's amazing what dogs will eat.

tree skirt looks great so far.
Maybe the basting stuff tasted good to him, maybe bacon flavored.
At least he didn't eat the whole thing. then you'd have more problems on your hands.
Maybe he's trying to tell you not to give it away, he wants it. silly puppies!

I sure hope no one is making bacon flavored basting spray! My husband will eat it all!

Seriously, that was a close one - looks like you still have enough room to trim and bind the piece. Better feed those dogs before bedtime!!

It is good he didn't seem to like it. Only one place and not too bad. He hit batting only!

i'd be worried that he would become sick with batting stuck in his gut

Oh I bet you were just stunned. Dogs can be our best friends but so stinking stupid at the same time. At least your's heard that little voice in his head that was telling him to stop right there. Better the batting then the can of spray baste. Your tree skirt will be beautiful and looks like after you catch your breath you can get it done. Good morning!

You are very lucky--can't say so much for the doggie if they get sick! Maybe he didn't like the taste! Looks like it is going to be a very pretty piece.
