I never heard the term "ruler work". Does that mean using a template?

Ruler work is using 1/4 inch thick template rulers to guide the long arm foot consistantly in a pattern. I used circle and swag rulers in this quilt. I have straight rulers for quilting in the ditch. Every block in this quilt and every border was "ditched" for stability. Hope this helps to explain.
