Default Cardinals For My Front Door

I don't do a lot of decorating for Christmas because I have two cats. Two very destructive cats. I'm sure they would tear a Christmas tree up in no time flat.

I do like to decorate my front door. The door is metal and I use magnetic clips to hang pretty seasonal items on my front door. This year I wanted some pretty red cardinals on my door to match the birds at my bird feeders in the back yard. I found a panel with cardinal and chickadee pictures on it and cut it up to make this. I didn't add any batting (batting makes it a little too heavy to hang) and I didn't do any quilting, I just used some red fabric for the back, sewed the two pieces right sides together, turned it right side out, and top stitched around the edge. It was super simple to make and it's just what I need to brighten up my front door for the Christmas season.

it makes a lovely Christmas/Winter hanging. I used a poinsettia placemat on my door. round one with plastic behind it to keep it's shape.
