My great great Aunt was one of Carrie's closest friends. My great grandmother who lived to be 96 told us of being a girl, and Carrie would come and stay at the farm and "hide out after smashin' up one of them places". She said her mother, Carrie, and the aunt would play the upright piano, and sing hymns all night. Granny said she prayed they would stop on several occassions, as the piano kept her awake.

Well, I found this pattern online years ago when my husband was still in the Air Force, he was deployed when I began planning it out. It was my 4th quilt. I was just finishing it when he retired.

Funny how our quilts become like children we know so well... and how the past pops up in our quilts!

Sorry the photo doesnt do it justice

I like it too...the red, white and blue scrappy combined with a simple lay out is very cool.

When I look at your quilt I think of wrapping up in it in the corner of a couch with a good book and reading lamp. It looks so cozy. Like the ones my mom made.
