After sorting my fabrics, I found I had over 100 different Christmas fabrics, nothing less than a yard each so decided to get started using them. I have two daughters and two daughters-in-law so decided on a 'charm' Christmas tree skirt for birthday gifts so they'll have for the season. I cut 81 different 5" squares, 9 across and 9 down, cut diagonally on the corners to make an octagon shape, added two borders and will stitch in ditch on the squares and add Christmas braids in the border seams for the quilting. I have some 108" Christmas backing fabric to use. MSQC has a tutorial.
