Default Christmas Zipper quilt for grandson

My guild was offering a class on making the zipper quilt for $15 per person, so I took the class. I didn't have much enthusiasm for the class, but figured I could use up some of the Christmas fabrics that have been languishing on my shelves for 7 years.

I did NOT like it while I was making it. Not one bit. It looked yukky to me, but I persevered. I figured my 18 month old grandson is too young to know how yukky it looks!

When the top was done, i decided to use fleece for the batting and a plush velour (that I bought when i bought someone else's stash) for the back. Perhaps I should have considered the actual weight of batting and velour, because this quilt is heavy. I hope it's warm, too.

In any case, I like it much better now that it is done!

I have the same star quilt that's underneath your recently finished quilt!

I bought that about 20 years ago at JCPenny. It's held up well, and I do love it. Amazingly, when we moved to SC, it matched exactly to the sage green paint on the walls of the room!

I love it!! I just got a collection of fabrics that will be perfect in this pattern. That will be next on my list. Thanks!
