Thought you all might like to see this - I gave each child a 6 1/2 inch square of calico and asked them to decorate it! Got lots of variations...

Can I say this has got to be the best quilt I have ever seen. It is so touching and heart warming. Those kids are amazing. Thank You for sharing it with us.

No - unfortunaltey - asked the school if I could run workshops to produce the blocks and they didn't want to do it - so some blocks are actually done using ordinary felt pens!

But this quilt can never be washed- it includes feathers and felt, wool, paper, plastic, metal - wood - you name it!!! It was an absolute nighmare to piece as loads of people had gone over there 6 inch lines, often with paper or wood - so I had to work around that!

Grade system in Ireland is not like US - but the youngest children were 4 - 5 years old the oldest were 13.

There was quite a lot of work done by Mothers!!! But it all adds to the thing - In the flesh it is about 8 feet long and 5 feet deep. You could stand and look at it ALL DAY - even if your child was NOT one of the blocks!!

Will this be used in a raffle? Wonderful way to interest kids early on to quilting.
