Keli, a friend that I went to high school with years ago, passed away a year ago at a young age of 40, leaving behind her 8 year old daughter (she had cancer).

I have never known of such a close friendship as that of what Keli had with another girl I went to high school with, Debbi. This past year has been incredibly hard on Debbi, so I thought I would make a Memory Quilt and give to Debbi on Saturday night when a bunch of us from high school went out to honor and remember Keli. I was in such a rush to get this done before Saturday night, so I am very unhappy with the results (puckers in the quilt, corners don't match up perfectly, etc). I hope Debbi can look beyond the mistakes and see it for the memories.

    Thanks for looking!

Oh, darn, I'm crying!! This will be remembered for the quilt not the "errors".

What a wonderful gift. There are always puckers and unmatched parts of our lives. Those will give it an even more human touch. She will love it because you loved her enough to make it for her.

What a wonderful memory quilt. How moving! I really like making memory quilts with photos and words of joy.

What a wonderful way to remember a special person and honor a friendship. That is incredibly touching and loving.

Hey, Sis, I think you did a beautiful job and that it's a wonderful gift. Keli was a wonderful friend to you and so many others. This is a great tribute. And you know what? Take a good look at the beautiful quilts your MIL made and you'll find that they aren't perfect either. This a real treasue and I'm sure it will be loved for years to come. I'm so proud of you!

For those of you how don't know, jlbear is my sister in law and has just recently started quilting.
