Done!! Otter lap quilt

04-06-2020i had some otter fabric left over from my convergence qlt and made this. I did it sort of quilt as you go-in two sections. didn't plan well as i went along but it's done.
almost fits a twin bed too!!
by the way, i did try Sharon Schambers glue method on the binding. yuck! what a mess. i put some glue on the pressed binding, then tried to iron it. luckily i put my teflon pressing sheet under and on top!! that didn't work for me at all. anyone else done that?

What a cute quilt!
I use the glue method all time for binding. It sounds like you may have used a little too much glue or your placement was a little off.
I always fold and press my binding to the back once it is stitched on the front. This way, I am sure that I will cover my stitching line. It also makes it easier to see where I need the glue - I usually apply it right above the stitch line.
If it doesn't work for you, then you just need to find a method that does!

It's beautiful!
When I do the glue thing, I don't use glue when I stitch to my quilt top...I pin and sew. I only use it for the back. Sounds like maybe you used too much though? I don't have any mess when I'm gluing the back.

I guess i used too much. it was clear glue and the regular top, not the needle nose one. oh well, i think that did it for me. i had to try it and i did.

That is too cute. I think otters are adoreable.
There is a girl in my pottery class who is making an otter candy dish. If she will allow pics of her work I will show you. The otter is on his back, feet crossed, , holding a piece of candy. It is too cute also.

It's beautiful. I LOVE otters! Thanks for the idea for a quilt of my own. When I found the fabric I bought a boat load. Just didn't know what to do with it. Of course I didn't want to cut it either. ;)
