What are you batting with and what are the dimensions? In other words have you a pattern. They look simple enough and will make great holiday gifts.

A group of the gals from our quilt guild made these a few years ago and messed around with the variations. Be sure to use only 100% cotton fabric, use "Wrap 'N Zap" for the batting, to be sure it will Not start on fire in the microwave. Some of the other battings have "scrim" in them, and it's very flammable. We started with 8" squares, but most of us prefer starting with 10" squares. Then cut your batting at 9-1/2" squares. When you get the squares sewn together and turn them right-side-out, there won't be so much bulk in the seam. These are totally washable, and they might be wrinkly and funny looking once you take them out of the dryer, but you can iron them out flat again and it won't hurt a single thing.

I also make mine with a 10" sq. I also make a few from 12-13" starting sq. this size is good for medium serving bowls. Since it is my husband and I most of time. When it's a family get together I use regular heat pads.I use my smaller ones for veggies and such that are in a cereal size bowl.

Thanks for the tip of quilting definition in the bottom. I think I want to make some of these for holiday gifts.
