    Smile Fan Faire Quilt

Hi Everyone, a few weeks ago I decided to take a few days off of work and go to a work shop with Krista Moser. She designed this quilt. She actually designed a special ruler and several patterns to use that ruler. So this is one of them. It's a sampler and I had a ton of fun making it. I don't have time to quilt my own quilt right now...( hazard of my job) But I was really glad I went to the workshop and took a break from sewing to sew for fun.
I just used stash and I wasn't really paying attention to the pattern when I picked my fabrics. I was picking my fabrics at 10 pm the night before I was supposed to leave early for my class...so I made do with what I brought. I think I would have chosen a bit differently. Maybe I will just make another one?

I love the modern feel to it with plain grey and white.

That turned out great. Sometimes just pulling fabric without really looking ahead winds up being the best ( Serendipity) results. What a great Sampler.

Love the pop of color in the pattern amongst the grey and white. Sounds like a fun class...Your piecing looks perfect.

Wow, what a striking top! Very modern and loads of places to play on the LA. For someone who always claimed piecing was not your forte you certainly could fool me. This looks like a really challenging design with loads of bias edges to deal with.

Your color choices are good. Sometimes we overthink and work for perfection when serendipity is a perfectly good outcome. The quilt is beautiful as it is. After you quilt it, it will be so specatucular that neither you nor any of us will think it should be any other way.

How different! It amazes me how people keep coming up with incredible new ideas. You would think that every design has been done - and then - here is another great one to stick up on the wish board. Unfortunately, my wish board would take me 4 lifetimes to do them all....LOL....
